Trojans get the sweep over the Huskies

#4 ranked Garner wins 91-79 at #5 Heritage for the season sweep over the Huskies. Trayvon Ferrell pumps in 26 and Demetric Horton 24 to lead the Trojans to the non-conference road win. KD Burt scores 14 to reach career total 977. Garner uses a common theme with an outstanding 32 point 4th quarter to pull away from Heritage, after taking 84-79 win earlier this season. Ferrell and Horton combine for nine 3's with stellar 9-12 from the arc to lead Garner to 63% shooting on the night. Heritage claims 25-17 rebound margin but 9 ill-timed turnovers, including 4 straight to allow Garner 15-6 run to open the final quarter. Horton is 6-for-6 from the line down the stretch. The good guys improve to 7-1 with five wins over area ranked opponents. They head to the prestigious John Wall Holiday Tournament with match up vs Trinity Christian, ranked 15th in the state by PrepHoops Showcase, Dec. 27th 7PM at Broughton Holiday Gym.

JV Trojans annihilate the Huskies
Christian Little & Tom Horton score 10 each to lead a balance scoring attack in Garner JV 70-33 win at Heritage. Coach Bloms' Trojans race to 14 point halftime lead, holding the home team to just 38% from the floor with 8 turnovers. Horton and Nolan McLean record 8 rebounds each for 32-19 margin for the Trojans. A dominating 22-3 third quarter blows the game open with each Trojan player recording a point or rebound to improve to 7-1. The Trojans head to Athens Drive JV Holiday Tournament Dec. 27th vs Green Hope, with 5PM tip.

Lady Trojans split home matchup with Heritage
Garner JV girls won 45-32 over Heritage led by Nyema Hicks 23 points, to improve to 9-2 while the varsity girls fall to the #2 Huskies.
