Trojans drop second on the road to open 2017

Garner fails to score in the second half in 19-15 loss at Cleveland. The Rams go ahead score with five minutes left puts them ahead for the winning tally. Angel Anorve 18-yard FG for 3-0 Garner lead opens the scoring after NaDarius Thompson strips the ball at the Ram 6 in their first series. The Rams answer with 43-yard TD pass for 7-3 lead. Nolan McLean screen to Prestige Bellamy dashes 51-yards for TD at 1:28 of 1st to put the Trojans up 9-7. The Rams drive to the Garner 13 on the ensuing possession but Marque Maultsby 87-yard interception return for TD puts Trojans up 15-7 with 9:04 to halftime. Cleveland 2-yard dive five minutes later cuts the Garner lead to 15-13 at the break. Garner falls to 0-2 for the first time since 2010. (That 11-3 team reached the NCHSAA 3rd round.)
