Trojans NCHSAA run ends with East Finals loss

Garner falls to #1 Wake Forest 51-21 in the NCHSAA 4AA East Finals. The Trojans fall behind 30-0 at the half as the Cougars take advantage of short fields and Trojan safety for the significant lead at the break. Garner sees their 8-game win streak end in their ninth appearance in the NCHSAA Final Four. Nolan McLean 6-yard TD strike to Ralph Vieux at 8:14 of 3rd gets the SWAC Champs on the board. The pass is McLean's 26th of the season, tying the school record held by Vincent Jefferies ('13). Daiveon Carrington 4-yard TD, his 6th of the playoffs and Jaydin Dixon 7-yard TD run on his last carry as a Trojan, as their season ends 9-5.

McLean is 3rd all-time in career passing yards, passing Kameron Smith ('08). Justin Lewis 90 yards to reach 2nd all-time in receiving yards with 1,317 career yards. Jaydin Dixon leads Garner in rushing with 943 yards. Garner streak of consecutive +1000 yard rushers ends at 33 years.
